Abstract
A look at etheric conditions in Japan’s natural world is followed by a Goethean study of the native dokudami plant which is used in traditional Chinese medicine. Having considered the essential nature of the plant as it relates to the forces of cosmos and earth, we progress from natural process to human disease process. A skin condition serves as an example to consider this in detail. Suggestions follow for the production of special medicines. In conclusion insight into the medicinal qualities of dokudami is taken further to considering the spiritual connection between anthroposophic and traditional Chinese medicine.
