Abstract
A brief look at the possible origins of mental conditions
is followed by a discussion of the will in psychotherapy.
The sphere of the will is difficult to reach with the conscious
mind, and an approach via the experience of
rhythm is presented that would make it easier to understand
the will. Three forms of the will are considered
in more detail: the object-related will, the objectless
will in meditation, and the body-developing will.
Therapeutic use of the will in treating trauma is considered
from the anthroposophic point of view.
