Zusammenfassung
Viscum album, Herba, Extractum resinosum 10%,
Crème (VAR 10%) ist eine auf der Basis der fettlöslichen,
„leimartigen“ Harz-Substanz der Mistel (Viscum
album L.) entwickelte Creme zur Anwendung bei
malignen Läsionen der Haut (außer Melanom und
dysplastischen Nävi). Die topische Therapie und ihre
Wirkungen mit dieser Creme werden im Folgenden
anhand von drei Fallbeschreibungen von Plattenepithelkarzinom, Basalzellkarzinom resp. aktinischer
Keratose dargestellt.
Bei einem nicht operablen, pilzartig wachsenden
Plattenepithelkarzinom auf dem Handrücken eines
94-jährigen Mannes konnten die Infiltration der Haut
und das Tumorwachstum unterdrückt werden. In der
Folge zersetzte sich der Tumor und nach insgesamt
acht Monaten Behandlung blieb ein praktisch intaktes
Hautepithel zurück, das noch von kleinen Knötchen
umgeben war. Ein ausgedehntes Basalzellkarzinom
am unteren Augenlid einer 78-jährigen Frau
konnte innerhalb von zehn Monaten bis zur vollständigen
Remission gebracht werden. Ein 73-jähriger
Mann mit aktinischer Keratose und dringendem Verdacht
auf Übergang in ein Plattenepithelkarzinom
mit Exulzeration auf der linken Wange konnte durch
eine neunmonatige topische Therapie weitgehend
geheilt werden.
Abstract
Viscum album, Herba, Extractum resinosum 10%,
Crème (VAR 10%) is a cream developed on the basis of
the fat-soluble, “glue-like” resin substance of mistletoe
(Viscum album L.) for use in malignant lesions of the
skin (except melanoma and dysplastic nevi). The topical
therapy and its effects with this cream are described
below on the basis of three case descriptions of squamous
cell carcinoma, basal cell carcinoma and actinic
keratosis, respectively.
In the case of an inoperable, fungus-like growing
squamous cell carcinoma on the back of the hand of
a 94-year-old man, the infiltration of the skin and the
tumour growth could be suppressed. As a result, the
tumour decomposed and after a total of eight months
of treatment, a practically intact skin epithelium remained,
which was still surrounded by small nodules.
An extensive basal cell carcinoma on the lower eyelid
of a 78-year-old woman was brought to complete
remission within ten months. A 73-year-old man with
actinic keratosis and urgent suspicion of transition
to squamous cell carcinoma with exulceration on the
left cheek was largely cured by nine months of topical
therapy.
