Abstract
At present, every third child is born by caesarean section in Germany, in some rural areas almost every second child. What kind of obstetrics do we practise at Havelhoehe? Are we able to provide individual care to treat the infant’s way into life on earth with respect? Are we able to support the competence of mothers to deal with pregnancy and giving birth? The paper shows how at the Havelhoehe Community Hospital the ‘everything is feasible in human medicine’ attitude is replaced by low-intervention obstetrics based on the inner attitude of a good I-to-I encounter.
